At Hatzolah of Passaic-Clifton EMS a non-profit organization, our mission is to serve the Passaic, Clifton community through rapid-response emergency medical care, available every minute of every day.
As volunteer Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), Paramedics and Dispatchers, we are united by a singular purpose: saving lives through swift, professional, and compassionate care.
We understand that in medical emergencies, seconds make the difference. That’s why we strive to arrive within minutes of each call, maximizing positive outcomes through immediate medical intervention. Our dedicated team of volunteers stands ready 24/7/365, ensuring that quality emergency medical services are always accessible to those in need.
At Hatzolah of Passaic-Clifton, we invest in the advanced emergency medical equipment to provide our responders with the tools they need to assist our community and serve community with superior emergency care. Our response vehicles are equipped with technology including:
Each Member has their own fully stocked Trauma bag, Oxygen and Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Our fleet of fully-equipped ambulances are staffed by our Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) who are ready to respond 24/7 to emergency calls. Each ambulance is outfitted with medical equipment that meets and exceeds New Jersey Department of Health standards for Basic Life Support (BLS) vehicles.
Our Paramedic vehicles contain a cache of equipment including cardiac monitors/defibrillators, advanced airway management equipment, and specialized trauma response kits. Each piece of equipment is meticulously maintained and regularly updated to meet or exceed industry standards.
To maximize emergency response effectiveness, our EMT members undergo extensive training on all BLS equipment. This ensures they can deploy these life-saving tools with precision and confidence when seconds count. Additionally, our equipment is carefully selected to enable seamless integration with local hospital systems, facilitating smooth transfers of care.
Hatzolah of Passaic-Clifton stands as a beacon of emergency medical response in our community. As an independent, not-for-profit volunteer organization, we are committed to delivering swift, professional, and expert emergency care when our neighbors need it most.
Since our establishment in 2007, we have grown into a robust team of over 70 dedicated volunteers, including:
• Certified Emergency Medical Technicians
• Trained Emergency Dispatchers
• Licensed Mental Health Professionals
• Certified Paramedics
Our state-of-the-art emergency response facility houses two advanced ambulances and a specialized paramedic vehicle. This strategic infrastructure enables our teams to achieve remarkable response times—typically arriving on-scene in less than two minutes. In emergency medicine, where every second is crucial, this rapid response capability often makes the critical difference in patient outcomes.
Through the selfless dedication of our volunteers and the support of our community, we continue to enhance and expand our life-saving services, ensuring that professional emergency medical care is always just minutes away.
Under the distinguished guidance of our Rabbinical Committee, which includes Rabbi Aaron Cohen, Rabbi Yonason Sacks, and Rabbi Menachem Zupnik, alongside other respected Poskim, Hatzolah of Passaic-Clifton EMS maintains unwavering commitment to both medical excellence and Halachic principles.
Our dedication to Halacha is fundamental to every aspect of our operation. We conduct regular Halacha shiurim with our Members to ensure they are well-versed in the intricate balance of emergency medical care and Halachic requirements. This ongoing education enables our members to make informed decisions that honor both their medical training and Torah values.
Members of our community who require our services on Shabbos or Yom Tov can be confident that all our actions are guided by the highest standards of both Halacha and modern emergency medicine. Our Rabbinical Committee provides clear protocols for various scenarios, ensuring that pikuach nefesh (preservation of life) is addressed within the framework of Jewish law.
